Perhaps the real question you should ask yourself is, "why not walk?" Walking is an efficient and inexpensive form of exercise. It offers an array of psychological, physical, and spiritual benefits. That‚'s right, walking is an exercise that works on you from head to toe and form the inside out. The simple act of putting one foot in front of the other reduces stress, decreases your risk of heart attack and increases your creative and intellectual capacity.

The hours we spend in cars and at our desks at work have increased more in the last two decades than in the ten decades before. Unfortunately this sitting is not good for us. Sitting for long periods of time distorts your natural muscle balance, decreases your energy, and stiffens your joints.

The good news is you don't have to develop these problems. The bad news is that there is no magic potion or special recipe that will whip you into shape effortlessly. You have to work at it, at least a bit. All you really have to do is move more, get up and walk around to get your blood flowing and your muscles growing.
